Award-Winning Elder Scrolls Series Goes Wireless

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Stormhold & Dawnstar

May 14, 2003 (Rockville, MD) -- Vir2L® Studios and Bethesda Softworks® today announced the release of The Elder Scrolls® Travels: Stormhold and Dawnstar, two mobile games based on Bethesda's award-winning role-playing series, The Elder Scrolls®. In 2002, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® won more than 60 awards, including Game of the Year and RPG of the Year for both PC and the Xbox™. Now, prepare to see this same power harnessed as mobile gamers are pulled into the imaginative worlds of the two games, Stormhold and Dawnstar.

Experience the fun and excitement of this legendary franchise in the palm of your hand, complete with epic dungeons, fearsome monsters, and priceless treasures. Played in first-person perspective, this epic single-player game is presented with stunning graphics. As in the genre-defining worlds found in Morrowind, Daggerfall®, and Arena™, The Elder Scrolls Travels will be the definitive wireless RPG!

"It's truly amazing how far you can take a game on a phone," said Todd Howard, executive producer of The Elder Scrolls series. "I think both casual and veteran players will be thrilled by the experience this new series has to offer."

In Stormhold, misfortune has landed you in a prison run by reputed lunatic Quintus Varus. The overseers put you to work, and it is clear you are not expected to survive long. You must find the few who can help you and overcome the challenges of Stormhold until you are strong enough to defeat the evil warden.

In the exile post and ice world of Dawnstar, Governor Vinticae sends players in search of his four champions, one of whom is probably a traitor. Players must survive the rigors of Dawnstar and gain power enough to defeat enemies and restore their good name.

"The quality of these games reflects the effort that went into making sure we stayed true to the franchise," said Douglas Frederick, president of Vir2L Studios. "For example, the Morrowind team created the game art and ensured a look-and-feel that is characteristic of the quality of an award-winning series like The Elder Scrolls."

Stormhold and Dawnstar provide exciting and challenging game play for a variety of mobile phones through carriers nationwide.

Mforma Group, Inc., a leading provider of mobile data solutions to wireless operators, is distributing The Elder Scrolls Travels games worldwide.

"Bethesda Softworks have demonstrated yet again their expertise and talent for pushing the envelope of gaming," said Christophe Watkins, vice president of content and media for Mforma. "We are honored to include The Elder Scrolls Travels games in our channels."
